Occupational Health Nurse

 We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to be located at our Beaver Valley site in Monaca, PA.  You will be accountable for achieving the effective coordination and implementation of Occupational Health Programs in alignment with the business at both our Beaver Valley, PA & Painesville, OH Sites.

 Contribute to the understanding and effectiveness of the Occupational Health (OH) function, by achieving effective working relations with business leadership, management, Responsible Care professionals, OH leadership, vendors and other relevant individuals

  • Ensure the effective implementation of Disability Management Programs (STD/ LTD and Workers’ Compensation)
  • Ensure that Occupational Health policies and procedures are maintained, including standing orders and directives.
  • Manages offsite Occupational Health Services vendors
  • Maintain Occupational Health record systems and required records
  • Develop and implement Total Well Being programs
  • Provide assistance to the Ergonomic Team and implement updates for Job Demand Assessments and working conditions
  • Engaged and involved in the Chemical Approval process and manage the Reproductive Hazard program
  • Manage the Fit to Work program, including all risk-based and regulatory testing such as Respiratory Clearance, Hearing, Asbestos, Hazmat, Crane operators, Travel medicine and Pre-employment
  • Manage employee illnesses and injuries that occur on-site and ensure notification to appropriate NOVA and regulatory authorities occurs, as appropriate
  • Provide direct nursing technical advice and support to employees
  • As a Member of the Emergency Response Planning team, assist in coordinating/developing Medical Team activities and Emergency Team drills
  • Manage the Blood borne Pathogens program requirements, including training
  • Support the corporate Occupational Health initiatives as required

The successful candidate will have a Nursing Diploma and/or Degree in Nursing required for the State of PA prior to start with ability to become Ohio State Licensed

·         Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health (COHN)

·         5 to 10 years' experience in General/ Emergency Nursing

·         2 to 5 years' experience in Occupational Health

·         1 to 3 years' experience in Disability Management

·         Solid computer skills

·         Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with all levels

·         CAOHC (Audiometry)Certification and Pulmonary Function Testing Certification desired

·         Self-Motivated, proactive individual who is a team player and collaborative

·         Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily priorities

 

Minimal travel may be required.
