Position Description

General Healthcare Resources has multiple exciting Traveling Registered Nurse (RN) opportunities available in the LeHigh, Bucks, Berks, and Montgomery County area. ALL are considered full-time, permanent positions with a well known and respected not-for-profit client. We're seeking professional and qualified candidates who desire to work with a dynamic nursing team, an organization that is a preferred provider to St Lukes and LeHigh Hospitals, and has a passion for long term care. Our client is a premier provider of high quality nursing and rehabilitative health care services for older adults, and has been around for 100+ years serving thousands of long term care, personal care, and independent living residents in six PA counties. They specialize in health care, housing, and rehabilitative services for older adults and has locations through out PA. 

Candidates must have the ability to work all shifts (1st, 2nd and 3rd), and at all locations (Allentown, Wernersville, Richland, and Wyncote). Schedule will be provided six weeks in advance and will require working every other weekend and holiday. We offer a competitive base rate plus shift differential.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performing a variety of duties to provide quality nursing care to residents, and to coordinate total nursing care for residents.
  • Oversee the delivery of nursing care to the residents and maintain consistency in the daily operation of the nursing unit.
  • Assess residents and analyzes obtained information to developing nursing diagnoses.
  • Plans and implements individualized care plans for residents based on assessment; evaluates the effectiveness of developed care plan and updates as appropriate.
  • Administers medications and treatments to residents; administers I.C. fluids, supplemental nourishments.
  • Performs rounds according to established schedule; document progress, deterioration, changes in condition and all other pertinent information.
  • Informs Physician of changes in resident conditions, orders medications from pharmacy per facility policy. Checks in reordered drugs and medications.
  • Provides support and consultation to resident families to assist them in problem solving and meeting resident personal needs.
  • Insures an atmosphere which allows for privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
  • Insures the confidentiality of all resident and/or employee related information.

Hours/Schedule:

  • Full-time (40 hours, per week)
  • 1st shift (7:00am-3:00pm)

  • Allentown, PA 18104
  • Wernersville, PA 19565
  • Richlandtown, PA 18955
  • Wyncote, PA 19095 (accessible by public transportation)
  • Must have reliable transportation that will allow you to commute to/from these locations.

Pay Rate:

  • $42.00/hour
  • Shift differential applies when working 2nd or 3rd shift

Education/Experience/Certification:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an approved school of nursing; current PA license to practice as a Registered Nurse
  • Current CPR certification or ability to pursue certification
  • One year of experience in Long Term Care/Geriatrics preferred
